Footloose Freedom Mile - July 4, 2009
Mammoth Lakes, California
One (1) Mile Race (US Track and Field Certified Course) Starts at 10:10am near the corner of Minaret and Old Mammoth Rd in Mammoth Lakes. Race will take place before the start of the 4th of July parade.
Race Information:
Parking: We encourage all participants to park their vehicles in town and walk to the STARTING LINE (Snowcreek Golf Driving Range on Old Mammoth Rd. and Minaret).
Awards: All awards will be sent via US Post Office on Monday July 6th.
High school and College (NCAA) athletes are not eligible for any prize money, first place and course records included. Read complete Prize Money Rules [PDF]
Age Groups: Men and Women: Under 12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-70, 70+
Overall Man and Woman will receive a prize money check of $100 in the mail. Master Man and Master Woman (over 40 years of age) will receive a prize money check of $50 in the mail.
Results: All race results will be posted on the High Sierra Striders website the following morning and be posted at Footloose Sports on July 5th.
Registration- Sign up on Active.com or print and mail Registration Form [PDF] along with check to PO BOX 3778, Mammoth Lakes CA 93546. Please make check payable to High Sierra Striders, memo line, 2009 Footloose Freedom Mile.
Deadline: Please mail entry forms by June 15, 2009. After June 15, 2009 please register at Footloose Sports in Mammoth Lakes.
Race Day Registration- Will open at 8:00am and close at 9:45am at the STARTING LINE of the race.
Dogs are welcome, however they must be on a leash!
Restrooms are available at the Mammoth Creek Park and 2 Port-A-Potties will be available near the starting line.
Proceeds of the 2009 Footloose Freedom Mile will go to Disabled Sports of the Eastern Sierra, High Sierra Striders, and the Mammoth Track Project.
